Core Values of Camp Consumed
1. Glorify God: Our ultimate existence is to glorify God. This is our purpose and guide as we seek to do His will. We exist to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. Everything we do must please Him and bring honor to Him.
2. God’s Word, The Bible: The Bible is our standard for all belief, instruction, practice and policy.
3. Servant’s Heart: A servant’s heart is faithful, trustworthy, responsible and humble; has a genuine concern for others. Size, status, or reward of job is not of significance. Gives their very best, pays attention to quality and excellence, works with a cheerful heart even when serving grumpy or critical people. Considers the needs of others before themselves. Encourages others. They are imitators of Jesus – They give sacrificially.
4. Integrity and Character: The way we speak, act, and make decisions will be aligned with integrity. Integrity is demonstrating honesty, sincerity, respect, biblical morality and humility in all areas of life. Character is more important than talent.
5. Love for People: We provide a setting that gives clear witness and testimony to God’s saving grace and love for all people. A place and setting for spiritual renewal. Opportunities for Christians to use their spiritual and God-given talents for the Lord. Full time staff are valued, nurtured, and encouraged to grow in their areas of strength and spiritual gifts.
6. Excellence: The Lord Himself is a God of Excellence, as shown by His creation; further, He gave the best that He had, His only Son. We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. Striving for excellence requires continual self and organizational evaluation. Excellence means to meet and exceed guest expectation. Ultimately our focus will be about people rather than on things or gain.
7. Stewardship: In order to be good stewards of that which is entrusted to us (people, talent, time and resources), we will put God first in all decisions, because everything ultimately belongs to Him.
8. CommUNITY: Our community is a place where people feel at home, cared for and accepted. A place that is safe, clean and comfortable; a place where guests from all walks of life can be united by an oneness in Christ with opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships. A setting that inspires and creates positive memories.
9. A Positive and Fun Environment: Laughter is food for the soul. We provide a positive and fun environment in order to facilitate learning and serving.
Our 16 Fundamental Truths
This “Statement of Fundamental Truths” contains the 16 doctrines for Camp Consumed. Four of these: Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Divine Healing, and the Second Coming of Christ are considered Cardinal Doctrines which are essential to Camp Consumed’s core mission of reaching the world for Christ. The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This “Statement of Fundamental Truths” is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us, that we may all speak the same thing (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 1:10). The phraseology employed in this statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to Camp Consumed.
1. The Scriptures Inspired – WE BELIEVE the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.
2. The One True God – WE BELIEVE there is only One True God – revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ – WE BELIEVE in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s Son, Jesus was born both human and divine.
4. The Fall of Man – WE BELIEVE though originally good, man willingly fell to sin – ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.
5. The Salvation of Man – WE BELIEVE every person can have restored fellowship with God through ‘Salvation’ (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior).
6. The Ordinances of the Church – WE BELIEVE and practice two ordinances – (1) WATER BAPTISM BY IMMERSION after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and (2) HOLY COMMUNTION (The Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit – WE BELIEVE the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience FOLLOWING Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.
8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit – WE BELIEVE the initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘speaking in tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.
9. Sanctification – WE BELIEVE sanctification initially occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ like.
10. The Church and its Mission – WE BELIEVE the Church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘The Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
11. The Ministry – WE BELIEVE in a divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership ministry. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers – the Church.
12. Divine Healing – WE BELIEVE divine healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians today and is provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).
13. The Blessed Hope – WE BELIEVE in the blessed hope – When Jesus raptures His Church prior to His return to Earth (The Second Coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from the grave and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.
14. The Millennial Reign of Christ - WE BELIEVE in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.
15. The Final Judgment - WE BELIEVE a Final Judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.
16. The New Heavens and the New Earth - WE BELIEVE and look forward to the perfect New Heaven and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'
